What is This “CROSSOVER” I Keep Seeing?
Submitted by Alyssa Kiefer in RCS Highlights on July 31, 2019
You may have noticed information about CROSSOVER in the weekly Eagle Update and on the RCS website. Here are some common FAQs to introduce you to the new relationship between Redwood Christian Schools and CROSSOVER Youth Basketball.
What is CROSSOVER?
CROSSOVER is a youth basketball ministry and exists to create healthy competition while building biblical character into our players. Weekly prayer and devotions are a significant component of our basketball ministry. We are one of the largest affiliates of the Junior Warriors Basketball Program and, thus, our uniforms come directly from the Jr. Warriors.
What does RCS have to do with CROSSOVER?
Simply stated, CROSSOVER is now being “overseen” by Redwood Christian Schools. Furthermore, the director of CROSSOVER is RCS Director of Specialized Programs, Patrick Lee. The ministry is jointly led by members of the Castro Valley area church community. All CROSSOVER volunteers are from local churches and are required to submit an application and background check. (Interested in volunteering? You can find the application on our website.)
Is there a discount for RCS students?
Sorry, there is no discount for RCS students. Registration opens August 1 and is first come, first served until teams are full.
When is the season and where are the games played?
Our one‐hour practices usually begin the first week of November (the day and time of these practices are determined by the volunteer coach assigned to team). Games begin on the first Saturday of December and run through the beginning of February (with a Christmas break). All practices and games are held at local Castro Valley churches or school facilities.
